Lungs for Mandy

I jotted down these things  Saturday and Sunday when the initial idea hit me for my grateful list.

November 1st: Today I fell fortunate to have good friends Today it was obvious that I am very lucky to know Cindy, Adam, Elise, Corrine, Samson, Amy, Jeff and Jody.

There was Chili Cheese dip at the party which is like my favorite party treat.

Sunday: Mom and I volunteered at the Donor Sabbath ceremony where a celebration of the gift of life was held. Amazingly enough there were a few hundred people in attendance who where family members of a person who donated their organs. The ceremony was extremely moving. I am thankful to all families who have  made the decision to donate their organs and the two families who made the choice that has saved my life.

I am grateful for my mom. We were able to hang out a little bit at the ceremony and the entire time I was thinking about how thankful I am for her love and support. Along with the rest of my family.

I am also thankful for Tom Archer who started the 2nd Wind support organization.

Here is a family fun event — A FREE ONE, well, kinda!

5th ANNUAL LUNG WALK 

The 2008 5K race and walk and one mile walk will take place on  October 18, 2008 in historic Forest Park. 
The Lung Walk befits the Second Wind Assistance Fund which is a charitable provider of limited financial assistance to lung transplant patients of St. Louis area providers. The fund is designed to help pay for medical and other related expenses that are of an emergency or non-insured nature.
The Lung Walk provides an opportunity to unite our community while raising funds to help improve the lives of some of children and adults in need of a lung transplant.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 8:30 a.m.

WELCOME: 8:45 a.m.

START TIME: 9:00 a.m.  SHARP!
