School is out!

Saturday, June 11th, 2005

Okay yesterday was my last day of school. WooHoo. I finished my last final-Art around 10:30 and now I am free for a week. So far it appears that I have an “A” in History and “B” in Math, but I won’t know for sure the results of my other three classes until next week.

Next Monday I begin the next Math class which is a review class and Pre-Algebra and also I am taking an online Intro to Internet class. Two classes are enough especially since the Math will be more difficult.

I’m so happy that I have 14 credits towards my AA degree. There is still a long way to go (42 credits to be exact), but I enjoy it and feel as if I am really learning and accomplishing something.

Scott returned home from Saint Louis yesterday safetly and earlier than anticipated. He is extremely happy to be an uncle and is very proud of his new niece Lauren! He took pictures and we will update the photo section ASAP!

Everything else is fine here. June gloom seems to have left us–thank goodness.Every year around this time the weather is crappy, just dark and gloomy they call it June-gloom. We had it at the end of May and beginning of June, but I’m happy to say it is GONE! Next weekend is my birthday and I believe we are going to celebrate with an ENTIRE day at the beach and maybe camp if there is a campsite available even though it is such short notice.

The weekend has been crazy in our neighborhood. Very crowded and lots of streets closed down. If you didn’t know it is Gay Pride Weekend all around the country. My neighborhood goes ALL-OUT! There will be a parade tomorrow and Paris Hilton is the Grand Marshal which makes me laugh! I think I’ll go and watch the festivities, everyone loves a parade RIGHT? I do! I think it is a good thing that the gay community has a weekend of their own to celebrate although I HATE THE ROAD CLOSURES. Scott will be at work so I will be alone I wonder if I will get picked up on? I’ll let you know :)

Hopefully you are doing well.

Goodbye

CRASH

Wednesday, June 1st, 2005

On Saturday a group of girls and I went to the movies to see Crash. It was sort of a field trip kind of thing. We are studying racism and culture clashes in our California History class right now.

Well, if you have not seen it GO SEE IT! It is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. If you like the kind of movies that are fast and really make you think! Still four days later and I can not stop thinking about the film.

The story is really about how we all sterotype people no matter how non-prejudice we may think we are. There are many characters: Matt Dillion and Ryan Phillipe play LAPD, Brendan Frasier plays the district attorney for LA and Sandra Bullock plays his wife and Don Cheadle adn Jennifer Espinito plays a detective. It sounds like a lot of characters, but they eventully crash into each creating a GREAT story! I felt so many emotions throughout the movie and that is not always easy to create in movies today. I do caution it is a FAST moving movie and you have to pay attention to the story line carefully. This is one of those you don’t want to get up to use the restroom  and have your popcorn and soda purchased before you sit down..
