One of many interesting, strange and sad events

Monday and Tuesday were very strange days for me.

I’ll start with Tuesday night. Last night I went to my math class and my friend  came and sat down away from the normal place that she sits. You could tell that something was wrong. At break I went up and sat down next to her to find out what was wrong..

Her response was ” My Dad has to go to Iraq in November”. What do you say to someone when they tell you something like that? I had no idea what to say. She went on to say that he has been retired for 8 years and he recieved papers telling him to report to Iraq. The man is 51 years old!!! When he was in the Army he was in accounting but was told he will not be doing that, but there were no details other than that. I don’t get it!! This girl only has her Dad no siblings and her mom lives in Korea.  How after being retired for that many years can he be called away?

Thank goodness that the summer semester is almost over. I have been working very hard at this math class and my grade is currently a very low C or a high D. I need this class to move to the next. If I feel lost now and move up a class, will I be struggling at the next level also? I don’t think my mind was made to solve math problems. It may stem from my elementay school days  when I had to leave the natural classroom and go to Special Math. The teachers always thought that I had a learning disability but the real problem was that I was on a medication that made me hyper and I couldn’t or wouldn’t concentrate The medication Theodore was taken off of the markets years later bc it was causing kids to have heart attacks. Luckily I didn’t end up having a heart attack just a math phobia

A friend of mine was told from birth that she was mentally challenged and would never make it through “normal” school.  Her real problem is dyslexia, something VERY treatable! She recently graduated from college in May..with honors!!!! She showed everyone who doubted her!!!!

Today i someone special’s birthday, but I can’t say who!

I bet you will figuer it out very soon!

A Father Means………..

 Father means so many things…

A understanding heart,

A source of strength and of support

Right from the very start.

A constant readiness to help

In a kind and thoughtful way.

With encouragement and forgiveness

No matter what comes your way. A special generosity and always affection, too

A Father means so many things

When he’s a man like you…

Happy Birthday Dad!! I love you!

Rest in peace……

We got word today from Scott’s family in Saint Louis that the family cat, Auggie passed away. Scott had originally adopted Auggie in college. Three college guys and a cat didn’t work so well. Scott’s parents saved Auggie from the guys! Auggie grew to be part of the family even though Scott’s mom Diane was allergic. He went from using a plain brown box as a litter pan to three deluxe liter boxes throughout the house plus Fancy Feast twice a day.  He resembled a  bobcat cub. He was probably the most travelled cat that I had ever met. From what I understand his favorite spot to sit on a road trip was the pilot’s lap. Very unusual for a cat. Eventually Auggie settled with Kathi, Scott’s younger sister in her new condo and was happy as could be. Believe it or not the dog to the right of the screen was scared of him.

Auggie we will all miss you!

I believe all animals were created by God to help keep man alive.
